Meet Our Birds

Cascades Raptor Center is home to nearly 40 resident education birds, chosen to live with us permanently as ambassadors for their species.
They are our valued coworkers who have a very special job: helping us connect people with raptors up close.

Aeolus

Aeolus is one of Cascades’ longest serving ambassadors, having joined our team in 1997.

Apollo

Because Apollonia was unusually small and required intensive care, clinic staff had to separate her from her larger siblings for her own safety.

Atticus

Atticus was hatched in Minnesota in 1988, as part of a breeding program to increase Bald Eagle numbers in the wild.

Banjo

Banjo spends her day training for her favorite foods and specializes in meeting small groups of guests rather than teaching large programs

Bodhi

Bodhi came into human care at approximately three weeks of age. Originally from Texas, he joined the Cascades Raptor Center ambassador team at 10 weeks old in May 2007.

Celilo

Celilo came into human care from the wild in Nebraska in early 2002. She was just beginning to get her pure white head and tail at the time, so it’s estimated that she was around 4-5 years old.

Cirrus

Cirrus hatched near Anchorage, Alaska, in 2017, and came into human care at the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage.

Dante

Dante hatched in the Mendocino National Forest of Northern California in summer of 2016.

Dmitri

Dmitri was hatched in human care in St. Louis, Missouri, at the World Bird Sanctuary.

Eowyn

Eowyn was hatched in human care in 2000 at the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Guapo

Guapo was found as a first-year bird in Gold Beach on the southern coast of Oregon in early October 2016.

Guillermo

Guillermo was hatched in human care in Reno, Nevada, in 2023 and joined the Cascades Raptor Center team at 28 days old.
